Here’s a question for you, and I would appreciate your comments. Would you like to see a Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama presidential ticket?

I wouldn’t and here’s why. As a young, extremely liberal American I am ready for a change. I honestly believe that Barack Obama is the breath of fresh air that this country’s lungs so desperately need. A joint ticket between him and Hillary would only cause unneeded infighting which would lead to a stagnate government… and if you’ve ever smelled a stagnate canal; you KNOW that isn’t a good thing.

I understand that Hillary has the “experience” but in my opinion experience isn’t everything. The word “experience” is often just a misnomer for someone who is old and stuck in their ways. There are a lot of people running today’s world that are “experienced” but are also completely inept, especially in an age where numerous societal innovations happen at the speed of a cable modem. Understandably, It is hard to keep up. I bet, it’s the same feeling that OUR parents had when digital answering machines were first invented… you see someone who has years of worldly “experience” and who is very smart fumbling around with a recording device like they were the caveman who first discovered fire. It happens, people “age-out” of society. Don’t feel bad gramps, you can still remember when gas was 10 cents, you win.

“Experience” is just a word to describe doing something for a long time. “Talent” is a word that describes the natural intangibles that it takes to get a job done… and that is what I believe Barack possesses. He’s 46 and running for President! Hey Hillary and McCain, why has it taken YOU so long to get to HIS level??? That’s the question I’d like answered. It is far more impressive to accomplish success young, which usually means you are truly the right person for the job.

Look at the entertainment industry, the same principles apply. How many failing shows are there on TV right now? The answer: most of them. Why? Because creativity has been squashed by the dinosaurs running things. The only ideas that are really working are the youthful ones, developed by people who are willing to take risks. If you aren’t willing to take risks, you won’t lose… but you definitely won’t win.

My point is this; the word “experience” is overrated and doesn’t apply anymore to today’s society. So what if you are old enough to remember changing a typewriter ribbon? I’m young enough to use myspace (or facebook, which ever you prefer). Unfortunately for you, your faded memories of the “good ole’ days” are just that, the past. I’m living right now and so is Barack. Don’t threaten him with experience because he has the talent. Experience does NOT equal know how. In more cases than not it equals a myopic view on the way things should be done.
Now, back to you… what do you think, would you like to see them team up?

I love you,
